Buy aid for Greece

  • Refugees often arrive with nothing but the (wet and worn) clothes on their back so aid is in high demand.

We mainly support refugees located in and around Athens where thousands of families are living in squalid conditions, unable to leave and seek refuge elsewhere.

Thanks to your donations, we can help provide warm clothes, staple food and hygiene items to support refugee families. We buy and distribute these items locally, meaning that we invest money back into the local economy and ensure that the aid is being provided by the people who best know what’s needed there.

Women and children have already started crossing the border from Ukraine into neighbouring countries such as Poland and Hungary in their thousands. Many thousands, even millions, more are expected to follow suit over the next few weeks.

We’re putting together emergency food parcels to greet them with. These food parcels contain everything a family of 4 would need to stay fed and watered for a week. Due to limited or no cooking facilities, the items are mostly non-perishable, pre-packaged and easy cook items, although we will also be supplementing with some fresh fruit and vegetables too.

The parcel contains essentials such as breakfast biscuits, energy bars, long-life milk and bread, tinned meat, fruit and vegetables, instant soups, pasta and noodles, tea, water and multivitamins.

Boxer Shorts
from £2.50

Buy a pack of four boxer shorts for a refugee and give them something clean, warm and dry to wear.

We don’t think this one needs much explanation, really. Laundry and bathing facilities are non-existent when you’ve no chance of shelter. Everyone wants to stay clean. This pack of boxer shorts includes 4 pairs.

Help keep a refugee in France warm and dry by donating a pack of boxer shorts.

By purchasing this product, you commit to buying one family food parcel per month for the price listed. You can cancel this subscription at any time.

Nappies and Cream
from £11.50

The last thing a parent should have to worry about is having clean nappies and cream for their child. It’s hard enough living in a refugee camp, never mind if you don’t have the supplies to change your baby. Buy two weeks’ supply of nappies and cream and make a mother’s day.

Provide a mum with the hygiene essentials she needs too by buying period pads.

Bus Tickets

The refugee camp on Samos Island, Greece, is 7km from the town, along rocky mountain roads. There is a bus that can transport refugees, but must pay for tickets. To make matters worse, since May 2023, refugees are no longer offered any financial allowance from authorities.

Our partner - Just Action - provides free return tickets to the refugees at its "Free Market" shop, in Samos Town.

For £4, you can pay for a return ticket to visit town. This means spending time away from the camp, FREE shopping in the "Free Market", attending legal appointments, and creating some autonomy and freedom for the residents of the camp.
