Jordan: THE BACKDROP

We're on the case to solve period poverty in Zaatari, Jordan.

When we sat with the women at the well in the village outside Mafraq, just beyond Zaatari camp, we asked what they actually needed. That's where we met Fatimah, 28.

We were told that her husband won't buy her or their daughter period pads, as it's too shameful for him, so much so she goes without period products.

Like so many of the women and teens gathered that day, Fatimah and her daughter have spent days in isolation, sitting indoors alone during her period, sometimes trying rags in desperation, that do not do the job.

The good news is that this issue is solvable.

Reusable Period Pants

Buy one pair of reusable, PFAS-free period pants, breathable, absorbent, and leak-proof. We went through a long process to find pants that actually work, testing them ourselves before bringing them to The Aid Shop.

This is not a symbolic donation. The number of pairs we deliver corresponds exactly to the quantity you buy through The Aid Shop.

We would be so grateful if you could consider subscribing to a monthly purchase. The impact is direct, and you keep control of where your money is going. Even once we reach our target, pairs will wear down over time and more girls will start their periods, so a steady monthly supply means our community can always rely on having enough to go around.
