130 tins of baby milk needed
in Kyiv, Ukraine

Ukraine: THE BACKDROP

We have identified a need for 20 pregnant women and mothers with babies at the crisis shelter we support in Kyiv, fleeing the war in eastern Ukraine. The trauma and stress of fleeing frontline areas often disrupts a mother's ability to breastfeed, leaving formula as an essential lifeline for their babies through the winter.

Baby milk formula is running short as supermarket shelves empty and warehouses are targeted. We need to get essential formula to mothers arriving with their babies - now.

🍼 Baby Milk Formula - Ukraine

Your purchase provides the equivalent of one tin (approx 400g) of essential baby milk formula for infants in Ukraine. Every week, new mothers arrive at the crisis shelter we support in Kyiv, having fled frontline areas - for them, access to baby formula has become a matter of survival.

Mothers facing trauma, stress, and displacement often cannot breastfeed, and formula is now one of the most urgently needed items.

We need to provide enough baby milk formula for approximately 20 babies to make it through the winter months.

This is not a symbolic donation: the number of items we deliver directly corresponds to the quantity you buy through The Aid Shop.

Ukraine: THE solutioN

These 130 tins will provide enough formula to include several cans in a crisis pack for each mother and baby arriving this winter. Our partners have reported that many mothers are unable to breastfeed due to the stress, trauma, and disruption of fleeing frontline areas, leaving formula as an essential lifeline for their babies.

This is not a symbolic donation: the number of tins we deliver corresponds to the quantity you buy through The Aid Shop. The price covers the cost of distributing the survival item safely.

Viktoriya’s story

Viktoriya* is from the Kherson region in southern Ukraine. A Russian drone destroyed her home while she was pregnant with her second child. She recently gave birth; soon after, her husband was mobilised to the frontlines, leaving her to care for two small children alone.

During the evacuation west, the stress and fear caused Viktoriya to lose her breast milk. Her newborn needs infant formula - an expense she cannot afford, on top of rebuilding a life in an unfamiliar place while air-raid sirens still follow her family.

Viktoriya is not alone. Thousands of mothers across Ukraine face the same reality: displaced, husbands at war, caring for young children with little income or support.

We are raising funds to provide baby formula to families like Viktoriya's, so a mother who has already lost so much doesn't also have to worry about feeding her baby.
