Our mission this Refugee Week is to completely solve period poverty in Samos Refugee Camp in Greece for every woman. At present there are over 650 women in the camp of menstruating age who often have to spend days in isolation, bleeding alone, because they simply can’t access the products they need. Sometimes they find spare rags in a panic - that definitely don’t ‘do the job’. We need to provide 1300 period pants to give each woman two pairs. Gladly, this problem is solvable. WOO-HOO!
*We can see the number of girls within families arriving from Afghanistan is increasing so any new arrivals will still benefit from receiving packs of one-use period pads.
‘It’s not a place for girls’ is a sentence we hear often.
This Refugee Week (16th to 22nd June) it’s our mission to * solve period poverty completely* in Samos Refugee Camp, Greece, for every woman! Yes, really!

The good news is that we can actually solve this!!!
In order to provide every woman with a comfortable period, we need you guys to buy a total of 1300 pairs, at £12 per pair.
We are here to do good this week, and we mean it! So when we provide period pants, we need for the pants to be PFAS-free, breathable, very absorbent, no leaking, and comfortable. We’ve gone through a long process of finding pants that will actually DO THE JOB! This includes testing them ourselves.

🩲 We still urge you to buy the period pants for £12, because the ladies in the camp have said it would be awkward to find places to put the pads out to dry discretely, as they are identifiably a period product, which invites stigma and shame, whereas the pants can pass visibly as a normal underwear garment. This is still much, much better than not having any period product at all.
